Buddy’s first Christmas was sprinkled with giggles, smiles, toys, family time, and lots of coughing. Bud was sick Christmas Day running fever all day. He slept most of the time though we did get some smiles out of him. The rest of the holidays were better and he met his cousins for the first time!! We stayed with Uncle John and Aunt Jenny and played with Jake and Lily! Santa was good and brought Bud some keys and baby caribeanners. It is true that these simple things can bring endless smiles of joy for little Bud. Thanks to Ms. Shirley and Brittany for providing Santa with most of his gifts. They were his elves this year and we just regifted in stockings and bows. We did give Bud some Wake onesies to even out the Carolina love he gets from the Players.
Jake and Lily are perfect ages for a baby. It was such a special time for cousins. Miss playing with them more often! Ben and Michael are growing up and couldn’t be more coordinated! Michael beat Eric at checkers, but Eric got him at Jenga. All Johnsons need to work on being a better sport and Michael is a Johnson in this respect. Nonetheless, they had a blast. Eric also won a game of risk after an altercation with Papa, just to prove he doesn’t believe in letting others win. 🙂
We missed time with the Baguleys in Macon and are so sad that we didn’t get more Baguley family time during the trip South. But that just means a trip to the Jerz is in order for Aunt Carrie. Hip hip hoorah for sister time!
We finally made it home last night after several flight delays and bud was happy to be back in his own bed. We are all still a little under the weather and both Buddy and Eric went to doc today. On the mend though and can’t wait to ring in the new year!!
Christmas morning
Celebrating with the family at Aunt Carries
Finally a smile on Christmas
Playing at Uncle Johns
At Meme and Papas, playing with Pucci, his older sister. Not too many pictures because we spent most of the time napping, reading, and recovering by the fire. Heaven.
Happy little traveler
I think Buddy is a homebody like his daddy. We got home so late that he had been super fussy every waking moment for the last hour of the trip. Lots of singing the buddy song and walking in circles in the airport. So we get home, and I carry him into his room. He opens his eyes, and realizes he is home. He squeals with delight. He starts kicking with excitement. So funny. I nurse and put him straight to bed and he happily goes down. Little homebody.
