Harry had a tough day yesterday. He slept less than 10 hours. If that doesn’t sound crazy, benchmark that babies his age should sleep 16-20 hours. Even our little insomniac baby averages 12-14 hours a day. Think about it: what does he do for the other 14 awake hours?? This baby can’t control his head, so being productive for 14 hours is unlikely. You can only do tummy time and go for stroller walks for so long. He has not felt well thanks to the thrush and really struggled to sleep, in spite of countless adorable, pitiful yawns…the biggest yawns ever for such a little fellow. He could win a record, I’m sure of it.
I digress.
45 minutes. It was 10pm and I handed Harry to E and told him that I was going to sleep but that Harry would probably want to eat at 10:45pm. He had eaten at noon, 2pm, 4:30pm, 6:30pm, and 8:45pm after all…but who’s counting?!
45 minutes of sleep would have been more than I had had all day, and it was a precious 45 minutes that I was really excited about.
FOUR hours later, Eric wakes me to tell me Harry’s hungry!!! FOUR HOURS!! He had fallen asleep and slept for FOUR hours. Okay, so it was actually only 3 hours and 45 minutes but it was a dream. (Pun intended.) More sleep than I’ve had since he was born. And then he slept another two straight and just went down to sleep again. Poor little tike was just so tuckered out!!
Our only picture from yesterday is Harry in his stroller finally dozing off. This was at 8pm and lasted about ten minutes. But every minute counts!
On another very exciting note, our dear friends Krista and Curt had their little one today!!! I won’t post pics or other info that’s theirs to share but so excited for Harry’s new little girlfriend to have arrived safely!
